60th Anniversary Production of A Yorkshire Tragedy

To celebrate 60 years of the Players, we will be returning to A Yorkshire Tragedy (the first play we ever did).  Robert Ball directed a script-in-hand production of The Spanish Tragedy at the Institute on the 4th February and on Birmingham main campus on the 5th February, with the generous support of Birmingham University's Centre for Learning and Academic Development.  You can read more about the production through the blog written by our President (Jose A. Perez Diez):  Blogging Shakespeare.

A rave review for A Midsummer Night's Dream sent by email from alumna Liz Brandow:   "As academic theatre doesn't necessarily get all the archival attantion it deserves, I just want to place on record that Jose's Nick Bottom, the weaver + Pyramus was the best I've ever seen - and I've seen a few over the years! His timing was impeccable, his hyperbole never embarrassing and the occasional flashes of vulnerability very endearing - wonderful!"

Also appeared in a blog by one of the audience members:  Two Pints of Milk and a Packet of Teabags and had a lovely review in the Stratford-upon-Avon Herald by Sandy Holt.

The Summer Production has been chosen:  Much Ado About Nothing.  More details as they are confirmed.
